“Eat your greens!” Does this sound familiar? I think it does to most of us, and for all the right reasons. Raw greens are packed full of fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals like calcium, magnesium and iron. In particular they are fantastic for helping us to stay strong and healthy, for cleansing the blood and giving us a fantastic natural glow.
But for many of us eating greens, particularly raw greens, does prove a bit of a challenge. For some, it’s simply because they don’t enjoy eating them, and for others it’s because they just don’t know enough interesting ways to get them into their diet, and so rarely eat them.
If you fall into either of these categories, I’m sure you’ll find this week’s video blog extremely helpful.
If it is that you don’t like the taste of greens, I would advise you to keep an open mind, and question whether a lot of it could partly be due to the fact that you were probably “force fed” them as a child and developed an aversion. Quite understandably so!
But there are several options in this list that you could use where greens are a “hidden” ingredient and you wouldn’t even know you’re eating them.
In time, the more greens you get into your diet, the more you’ll find you actually start to enjoy the taste of them. In fact, many people find they actually start to crave greens. Imagine!
Now, for this blog post I challenged myself to come up with 10 ways to eat raw greens, and surprised myself when I actually turned out 13! And I’m sure there are more ways, or variations on the ones I’ve mentioned. All the same, I think you’ll agree that 13 is pretty impressive 🙂
